Don Shipman anchors NewsChannel 2 Daybreak and Sunrise.

Don was born and raised in the Mohawk Valley. He is a proud graduate of Mount Markham Central School.

He attended Herkimer County Community College receiving an Associates Degree in Broadcasting. While at HCCC, Don served as News Director of the
college radio station WVHC. Following HCCC, Don Furthered his education at Utica College of Syracuse University majoring in Journalism.

Don is no stranger to Central New York television news. Prior to coming to WKTV NewsChannel 2, Don anchored a regional morning show that aired on WIVT NewsChannel 34 Binghamton, WWTI NewsWatch 50 Watertown and WUTR NewsChannel 20 Utica.

Don also served as a producer and reporter at WUTR NewsChannel 20.

In his free time, you can find Don spending a lot of time with his family and friends, dog Daphnie and cat Deacon. He also enjoys working out at the gym and many outdoor activities including skiing and camping.
