Don Shipman co-anchors NEWSChannel 2 Daybreak and Sunrise with Megan Koskovich each weekday morning from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. He also anchors NEWSChannel 2 at Noon.

Don joined NEWSChannel 2 in January of 2004 after spending five years as a morning anchor at WUTR NewsChannel 20.

During his time in television news, Don has covered several stories affecting Central New Yorkers. Most notably he reported on the slayings of Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey and New Hartford Police Officer Joseph Corr.

Don attended Herkimer County Community College, receiving an Associates Degree in Broadcasting. He then furthered his education at Utica College of Syracuse University, majoring in Journalism.

Don grew up in the Herkimer County village of West Winfield. He and his partner live in South Utica with their dog, Daphne and cat, Deacon.
