Dave Dellecese
Dave Dellecese is the assistant news director at NEWSChannel 2 and also anchors NEWSChannel 2 at Noon, bringing you the top local and national stories midday.
He has also hosted the current affairs television show "Central Issues" for WCNY-PBS in Syracuse as well as been a member of their recurring "media roundtable." Dave loves utilizing WKTV's vast online reach to try and reunite families with their lost pets, doing his best to spread the word via throughout the community. The overwhelming response from the community led to the formation of the WKTV Pets Section. No stranger to the Mohawk Valley, Dave was born and raised in the City of Utica, graduating from Notre Dame High School in 1998. After high school, Dave studied Film and Screenwriting with film and television veterans at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, and graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting and Mass Media Communications from SUNY Oswego. Prior to the life of a journalist, Dave spent several years as an award-winning low-budget independent filmmaker. While they did not attain any sort of financial blockbuster status, his films, enjoyed a modicum of success at independent movie houses and film festivals both in the United States and in England. Before joining the staff at WKTV, he was a newspaper reporter and online video-reporter for the Utica Observer Dispatch before joining NEWSChannel 2 in May of 2007. While performing in shows at the Ilion Little Theatre, he met Megan, the woman who would later become his wife in Fall 2010. The couple had their first child in Summer 2012.
