Job Title: General Assignment Reporter/MMJ (2 positions)
 
Hours: Full time

Supervisor: Steve McMurray, News Director

Qualifications:
Four-year college degree required

Special Skills:
Must have good communication skills, the ability to think on his/her feet, build solid relationships with news contacts, basic knowledge of computers and internet technology, basic knowledge of videotape editing and recording, basic knowledge of newscast production.

Job Requirements:
Report on a variety of news stories, solid communication skills, ability to shoot and edit videotape and ability to navigate newsroom computer systems.

Description:
WKTV NewsChannel 2, the NBC affiliate in Utica, NY, is looking for (2) general assignment reporters/MMJ’s.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching and developing local news stories.
He/she must have good communication skills and the ability to react quickly to changes.  We are looking for a self-starter who knows how to get the job done.  Ability to shoot and edit videotape is necessary. Prior reporting experience is a plus.

Job Title:   Commercial Shooter/Editor - Backup Director

 
Hours:   Full time

Supervisor:   Dave Streeter, Operations Mgr.

Description:
WKTV, NEWSChannel 2 is seeking a dynamic individual with both commercial shooting and editing abilities, as well as the ability to function as backup director for locally produced live newscasts.

Editor for commercial production:
Person creates high-quality short and long-form commercials and video presentations. Meets with sales clients to determine production needs in multimedia formats, and works directly with sales department, producers and other station personnel. Requires extensive experience with Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro, and must have a proven track record of balancing and managing realistic goals and expectations between producers, agency representatives, and account executives.

Director: Candidate should have experience directing live newscasts with Parker Vision or comparable system.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•    Shoots & edits commercials and long-format projects
•    Creates graphics for commercial clients and on-air use
•    Edits audio materials for broadcast and non-broadcast
•    Directs live newscasts
•    Publishes content and video to news and social media websites

Qualifications and Requirements:
Educational requirements: Four-year college degree preferred with an emphasis in Broadcast Communications. Two years’ minimum experience preferred. Ability to work well with others and possess strong organizational and computer skills. The applicant must hold a valid driver license in good standing. Ability to lift 30–50 lbs.
