IT Specialist/Broadcast Engineer

WKTV has an immediate opening for a full time I.T. Specialist/Broadcast Engineer. 

Responsibilities include maintaining computer workstations, laptops, servers and network infrastructure; minimizing network spam, viruses and outside attacks; ENG and SNG van operation; assisting with setup & teardown of remote broadcasts; some studio and transmitter maintenance/repair.  Ideal candidate will possess I.T. background and a willingness to learn various aspects of broadcast engineering.  SBE Certification is a plus.

General Assignment Reporter

Job Title:
Producer/Reporter (Full-time)

Hours:
Sunday-Thursday 11:00 pm to 7:00 am

Description:
WKTV NewsChannel 2, the NBC affiliate in Utica, NY, is looking for a producer who can fill-in anchor and report. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing two hours of news each weekday morning, and report when needed.

He/she will organize newscast lineups, write news stories, supervise story development, assist in updating the station’s website, coordinate news coverage with the assignment desk and assist in special project planning. Prior producing experience and the ability to shoot and edit is a plus.

WKTV is an equal opportunity employer. We produce nine newscasts per weekday, and three newscasts per weekend day.

Job Requirements:
The ideal producer must have solid writing skills, including spelling and grammar. He/she will be required to make decisions at a moment’s notice. Good organization and ability to work well with other employees required. A four-year college degree preferred.
