Kyla Campbell has recently been named the co-anchor of WBRE Eyewitness News in the mornings, airing from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and Eyewitness News at 11:00 a.m. WBRE is the NBC Affiliate in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, near her hometown. Kyla also teaches at her Alma mater, Wilkes University.
Kyla was the weekend morning anchor and reporter for WBRE until she was moved to the weekday morning show in January of 2010.
Kyla found Utica when she was attending Syracuse University, where she earned her Master's of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. Kyla was the first-ever anchor of NEWSChannel 2 Weekend Today.
Kyla Campbell joined WBRE Eyewitness News in October of 2008, after having worked for two years at WJAC in Johnstown-Altoona-State College. During that time, she reported, anchored, and even covered sports.
Kyla has had several stories go national, including coverage of the Central New York flooding in 2006. One of the most unique opportunities she had came in her first week at WBRE, when she interviewed former President Bill Clinton. Kyla also got to interview Cindy McCain during the campaign season. Most recently, Kyla met with Pat Sajak and Vanna White.
