John A. KubovciakLITTLE FALLS-John A. Kubovciak, 99 passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, October 29, 2009 peacefully in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. He was born on September 23, 1910 in Little Falls, son of the late John and Anna (Petras) Kubovciak and graduated high school in 1929. He furthered his education attending Rochester Institute of Technology and graduating in 1932 with a degree in drafting. He was last employed with the former Melrose Allegro Company, retiring after 40 years of dedicated service as foreman of the shipping department. On August 8, 1936 he was united in marriage with Helen Jurewicz in the Little Falls Presbyterian Church. Helen passed away in August of 2003. During his lengthy life span, John was involved in civic matters, as well as being an excellent and avid golfer for over 60 years, winning many trophies and numerous Mohawk Valley Country Club championships and many at the Little Falls Golf Club. John served in the US Army in World War II and was stationed in Europe as a member of the 220 Ordnance Ham Company as an interpreter because of his knowledge of the Czechoslovakian language. He is survived by his only living relative, Michel L. Kuboviak of College Station, Texas along with several nieces and nephews. There will be no local services with burial at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls at a later date.
