Marjorie Jeannette Loucks

Mrs. Marjorie Jeannette Loucks 77 of 53 South Main Street Parkside Court, Dolgeville, died Sunday November 15, 2009 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Utica after a brief illness.

Marge was born in Salisbury on December 28, 1931 the daughter of the late Lyle I. “Red” and Esther M. (Patterson) LeClair. She attended Dolgeville schools and continued her education at the Utica School of Nursing along with obtaining her RN degree from Mohawk Valley Community College.

Her marriage to Francis D. Loucks took place on January 18, 1948 in the First Presbyterian Church in Dolgeville. Mr. Loucks predeceased her on May 17, 1978.

Marjorie was employed as an RN at the former Herkimer Memorial Hospital and also the Mohawk Valley General Hospital in Ilion where she retired from. She was a member of the United Lutheran –Presbyterian Church of Dolgeville , a member and Past Matron of the Auskerada-MaQuaes-Rock City Chapter #204 Order of Eastern Star, the Spruce Lake Club, the Salisbury Historical Society and the Oppenheim Senior Citizens.

She is survived by a Grandson Michael Loucks of San Francisco, CA, and a sister Rose Grau of Dolgeville, also Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by a son David Loucks on May 2, 2007.

Memorial services will be held at a time to be announced in December, with the Order of Eastern Star holding ritualistic services for their Past Matron. Burial will be in the Dolgeville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Brian A. Roberts of the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
