Blossvale- Elizabeth ‘Betty Kay’ K. Haywood 61, of Pine Road passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at Rome Memorial Hospital.
 
She was born in Goshen, NY on April 25, 1948 a daughter of David & Katherine Parsons Lynn and was a 1966 graduate of Camden High School and a 1968 graduate of Morrisville College.

She was a Registered Nurse and had worked at the former Rose Hospital and then the D.D.S.O. and had retired from the Oneida Correctional Facility in 2004. During her career she was nominated for the “New York State Nurse of Distinction Award’ and had received the ‘Wheeler Award’ from the D.D.S.O.

Surviving are her husband, John H. Haywood, whom she married in Camden, NY on May 25, 1975, three daughters, Julie Haywood, Blossvale, NY, Beth Haywood, Norwalk, CT, and Jessica Haywood, Rome, NY, a very special grand daughter, Katelyn, and a brother, David Lynn, Jr, Rome, NY.

Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Sunday from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc. 109Main Street, Camden, NY.

Calling hours will be held from 1-3 pm prior to the service.
