  • ShapeUp Blog Week Three

    I can definitely tell a difference.  Thus far I have been working out four days a week, at least an hour at a time.  I am lifting a lot more and feel a lot better.  The first week I really thought I was going to die.  I was in such pain, but the hurt is gone now.  Don't get me wrong, I still feel it, but it's a good hurt.

    This week I have been working out alone.  Andrea has been under the weather.  NOT FEELING WELL AT ALL!  I feel bad for her, not only is she sick, but Al is going to work her butt off when she gets back into her routine.  Actually, it'll be funny to watch...haha, just kidding.  

    At some point this week we will likely bring the camera to the gym to track our progress.  Then we'll have a video piece ready for air the first week of Feburary.  Be Watching!
     
  • ShapeUp Blog Week Two

    I feel a lot more comfortable in the gym now.  More confident.  The first week Al had to watch over me every step of the week, now that’s not the case.  Although I still ask a lot questions.   Al has me focusing on upper and lower body strength.  Every other day I work out one or the other.  Working out my upper body is a lot easier than the lower body.  I really hate squats.  I’m 6’2” ..this makes it very difficult to do squats.  The problem, Al isn’t allowing me to use this as an excuse.    I will say this week I am not in as much pain.  I’m back to work, off of vacation.  This week both Andrea I have been working overnight.  We’re training a new producer for the morning show.  We work 11pm to 7am.  It’s been working out well, because as soon as we’re done with work we go directly to the gym.  Some advice.. If you work out after work, don’t go home before the gym.  You won’t end up leaving the house.  It is a lot easier to go directly to the gym.  
    On to week three.

  • ShapeUp Blog Week One

    Pain!  This is all I feel right now.  I am working muscles I never knew I had.   I have been to the gym before, in fact way back when I had a membership to the Fitness Mill.  I would go every so often.  I even worked out there with my father, but again nothing on a regular basis.   This is the first time I have worked out  on a regular basis and with this intensity.  

    Anyway, I have to be very honest I can barely walk.  Thank goodness I am on vacation right now.  I go to the gym, I come home, I curl up in a ball and sleep.  I operate like this for the first three or four session.   I’m hoping week two will be easier.  Somehow I don’t think Al is going to let that happen.
