Boilermaker Sunday has arrived

UTICA, N.Y (WKTV) - It is the second Sunday in July and Central New York is moments away from its signature event, the Boilermaker Road Race. At 8:00, thousands of runners will start their trek through the streets of Utica in an attempt to complete the best 15K Road Race in the country.
Race officials and volunteers have been preparing for months and overnight to prepare every aspect of the 9.3 mile course, the Finish Line area and post-race party at the F.X. Matt Brewery.
The weekend always kicks off the Friday before with the Health and Fitness Expo. Runners come to the Masonic Care Community to pick up their racing packets, enjoy vendors and get in the mood for Boilermaker Sunday.
Saturday, the Youth Run and 3-Mile Walk always take center stage as thousands find another way to participate in Boilermaker festivities even when they may not run Sunday’s race.
