UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Boilermaker Weekend 2011 has come to a close after tens of thousands participated in the many events all weekend long.

Thousands of runners crossed the finish line in West Utica and had a celebratory Saranac after finishing the 15K Road Race Sunday morning. Both the 2009 men's and women's champions skipped a year of victory but won 2011's race.

On the men's side, Ridouane Harroufi won. Last year's winner, Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia, did not return to defend his title.

On the women's side, Alice Timbililli won with a time of 48 minutes and 48 seconds

Also participating in Sunday's race is New York Lt. Governor Robert Duffy, who ran the 15K.

One record was broken Sunday with Amanda McGrory shattering previous year's times in the women's wheelchair division.
