Crowds, runners arrive for Boilermaker

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Tens of thousands have made their way to the City of Utica for the Boilermaker Road Race, now just moments away. The 15K starts at 8:00 a.m.

13,000 runners will take part in the 15K with thousands more taking place in the 5K Road Race.

One change in the 5K Road Race is that it starts at 7:15 a.m. as opposed to earlier times in previous years. It is now also considered an actual race as opposed to a training run.

After the race, the annual Post-Race Party will take place behind the F.X. Matt Brewery in West Utica, where more than 40,000 people will celebrate the conclusion of the Boilermaker with some Saranac Beer.

A late change to the Post-Race Party program includes no military fly-over.
