UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The National Distance Running Hall of Fame has announced it will dedicate their 2013 event will be dedicated to the victims of the Boston Marathon.

Initially, a moment of silence was planned at the half marathon and 5K events scheduled for May 19, but now the entire day will work to honor those affected by the bombings near the finish line of the Boston Marathon this past Monday. The blasts killed three and injured more than 170.

The event's logo has also been redesigned to honor the victims.

Utica's tightly-knit running community feels a close connection to the events in Boston, especially since Utica is home to the National Distance Running Hall of Fame.
