UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Edna Kiplagat of Kenya won the women's division of the Boilermaker 15K, setting a new course record time.
Kiplagat's time was 47:56, beating the old record which was set in 2001 by Catherine Ndereba. Earlier in March of 2010, Kiplagat, 30, won the arduous LA Marathon, which, at the time, was only her 2nd marathon ever. In that race, she also beat the elite men. The men's winner, Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia, also set a new course record. |
