2009: Boilermaker and Ride for Missing Children team up for 3 mile walk

By By KRISTEN COPELAND

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Each year, the Boilermaker teams up with a local organization and donates the proceeds from the three mile walk.

This year, the Ride for Missing Children will be on the receiving end of the money.

The walk is always a lot of fun, and this year will have extra meaning for those involved. Ride organizers promise the donation will stay local.

"The money will go directly into the Mohawk Valley Center," said Tony Artessa of the Ride for Missing Children. "It will support the poster distribution that is done here and also the child safety education that we support in all of our schools."

The Boilermaker walk takes place saturday, July 11 on the masonic campus. Two bicyclists from the Ride for Missing Children will lead the way.
