Boilermaker Expo to offer new foods and slew of health screenings

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - At the 2011 Boilermaker Expo, you will be able to "beef up" your experience, literally.

The New York Beef Council will be at the health tent this year and members say they will offer Pride of New York products and a new "sub of the run" - both of which will be free samples.

Along with the food, the tent will feature a push up competition, and emphasize exercise in your daily life.

"We have a whole slew of health screenings available - blood pressure screenings, as well as blood glucose," said Michelle Easterly of the NY Beef Industry Council. "We have a panel of dietitians available to answer any nutrition-related questions, as well as doing calorie assessments."

Officials of the Boilermaker Expo want to remind everyone not to bring their pets this year. They say that is for the safety of everyone at the Masonic Care Community.
