UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - For the second straight year, the Boilermaker Road Race is paying the City of Utica to cover the cost of public service during the weekend.
$18,000 will be handed over at Thursday night's committee meeting.
Utica's population nearly doubles during Boilermaker weekend and Mayor Robert Palmieri says the city has never requested financial support, but is grateful to receive it.
The money will cover the cost of police overtime and more.
