Road Runner Mile filled with fast times

Utica, N.Y. (WKTV) - It may have been a week earlier this year, but the Road Runner Mile was still fun to watch.

With four divisions of runners, times were faster thanks to a course change and perhaps the cooler weather. The best time of the day was by Beaver River's Matt Cheney who came in at a blistering 4:08. Utica College runner Morgan Payne had the second best of the day in the Men's Open race at 4:12.

The fastest female of the day was Holland Patent's Leah Rice. She came in at 4:58. Rice will be attending Buffalo University in the fall on a cross country scholarship. She was followed by Maddie Phaneuf, of Old Forge at 5:02, and Laura Szczesniak, of Whitesboro at 5:05.
