St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Whitesboro has a lot of history - 125 years of history to be exact - and needs to hear from you.

St. Pauls history began when Father John Mullaney was appointed to begin a new parish in Whitesboro.  The Whitesboro Church would include missions in New Hartford and Holland Patent.  Whitesboro's first mass was celebrated at the Town Hall in Whitesboro in 1883, with construction for the original St. Paul's Church beginning in October of the same year.

Throughout the 125 years, St. Paul's has seen growth, with the present church built in 1970 and a parish school added.  The parish had grown enough to give birth to St. Anne's Church in Whitesboro.

In recent years, changes in the Syracuse Diocese of the Catholic Church have converted the parish school into a much needed Day Care Center.  Changes have also seen the union of St. Anne's in Whitesboro and St. Stephen's in Oriskany with St. Paul's to create the new Catholic Community of Whitesboro.

As part of the 125 year celebration of St. Paul's, the parish is compiling a history of all three churches.  They are seeking copies of any pictures that depict Weddings, First Communion, Confirmation, Former Pastors, Former Sisters of St. Paul's School, School Pictures, Sports Events, Youth Events or any other events and memories from St. Paul's, St. Anne's or St. Stephen's.

They ask that you submit copies only with the name of the event and names of persons in the picture.  You can e-mail scanned pictures in jpeg or tif format to Darleen at  StPaulswhtb@AOL.com.
