Local teen chosen for 20th Annual "Scholars Weekend" in Atlanta, GA

By DON SHIPMAN

ATLANTA, Ga - A local teen is among 250 outstanding students who've traveled to Atlanta for the 20th Annual "Scholars Weekend," and treated to a grand welcoming ceremony when they arrived.

Tiffany Schreck is a senior at Notre Dame Jr-Sr High School, and this weekend she's competing with other students in an effort to win a scholarship from the "Coca Cola Scholars Foundation."

"I'm expecting to make a lot of new connections with people, especially fellow scholars and the Coca Cola Board," Schreck said. "These are connections that going to last a life time. And it's just amazing to be here with all these extremely talented individuals."

One of the main reasons Schreck was chosen for this event is because of her enormous contributions to her local community. Like the other students in Atlanta Friday, Schreck volunteers and she's also very involved in many activities at her school.
