(WKTV) - Many local schools from all around Central New York held their graduation ceremonies Saturday including Whitesboro, Clinton, New Hartford and Sauquoit Valley.

Whitesboro held their annual commencement at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Just about 300 students received their diplomas, with 13 receiving highest honors.

Superintendent of Schools Dave Langone, honored all of the students' hard work over their tenure in the district. He said, "It's been 13 years of hard work and great support from the parents, community members and educators and it's an important time to celebrate that and highlight that for our community."

Also leaving after 13 years of service at Whitesboro is the high school principal Curt Woodcock who will retire. Assistant Principal Jeff Kuhn will take over the top principal post.

New Hartford High School also held their annual graduation at the Stanley Center for the Arts in Utica. Their superintendent of schools attributed much of New Hartford's success as a district to this graduating group of students.

Superintendent Robert Nole said, "This class has had had a a tremendous amount of accomplishments. Our school has been honored by independent magazines, they have been successful in educational accomplishments and many extra curricular accomplishments."

Also graduating Saturday were Clinton Central Schools' seniors at the district's performing arts complex and Sauquoit Valley High School's senior class at their high school. Both schools had about 130 seniors who received their diplomas.
