MIDDLEVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Youth Empowerment Program got a big boost Sunday thanks to donations from area residents and businesses. A huge Chinese auction was held at the Middleville fire department.

All of the items were donated including a large screen televisions. All of the proceeds go to support the Youth Empowerment Project's many programs.

The organization provides services for behaviorally challenged children and those with traumatic brain injuries and assistance for families. They even have their own food pantry and provide holiday gifts for families and individuals in need.

Project founder Barbara Gaston said, "We did Christmas for over 460 families last year, and 165 shut-ins, so a lot of this stuff, a lot of the monies coming in will go toward getting those Christmas' read for people."

Besides the Chinese auction, a food drive was held to help fill the organization's food pantry.
