Indoor version of Heart Run and Walk takes place at Sangertown Square

NEW HARTFORD - America's Greatest Heart Run and Walk is still a couple of days away, but today an indoor version took center stage in New Hartford.

The Sangertown Square Mall hosted an indoor walk for seniors, and others who might not take part in Saturday's event. This morning's event gave people a chance to register for the Heart Run and get some exercise.

Organizers say many are taking advantage of events like these to register early.

"It was good we had people waiting at 6, excuse me, 7 o'clock," said Jim Stasaitis of the Heart Run and Walk. "Been registering people all morning long. It's been good here at Sangertown. It always is."

The event ended at 10;00 this morning, but there is still time to register for America's Greatest Heart Run and Walk.
