ROME - The road that travels through the Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome has a new name.

State Route 825 is now known as the "Veterans' Memorial Parkway." A number of local leaders gathered for a sign dedication this morning. All agreed that renaming the road honors those who have served, and now people will always be reminded of that.

"We appreciate sincerely the sacrifices that all of you have made to defend our nation to protect the principles we hold so dearly," said Senator Joseph Griffo. "So to all of you thank you for that service."

Unveiling the new sign was a little difficult, but the Lee Center Legion Post stepped in to help.
