Supporters pay respects at calling hours for fallen Marine

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Calling hours took place Friday for the local marine who was killed in Afghanistan last week.

Hundreds are coming out to pay their respects for Lance Corporal Jeremy Lasher the Campbell Dean Funeral Home in Oneida.

People were walking in in groups to say thank you to the 27 year old who died supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan on Thursday, July 23. It was a somber night in Oneida, and all of Central New York.

Calling hours run until 7 p.m.

The Marine's funeral will take place Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the New Beginnings Methodist Church in Wampsville.

Contributions can be made to the Caden Lasher Educational Fund c/o Oneida Savings Bank at 182 Main St. in Oneida.
