Marcy bridge to be named for fallen hero

MARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Governor David Paterson has signed legislation to name the Route 291 Bridge after Army Captain George Wood. Army Captain George Wood was killed six years ago while on a tour of duty in Iraq.

The 291 bridge goes over the Erie Canal.

This fall, a formal ceremony is being held to commemorate the dedication.
