ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - What more appropriate place to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country than at Fort Stanwix in Rome?

The park hosted the sixth annual "School's Out" program Wednesday afternoon.

Participants took home the junior ranger certificate and patch.

This year's theme was "exploring the country from the comfort of Rome."

Student's ages 5-12 were encouraged to attend so they could learn about the sacrifices made by American Veterans.

If you're interested in learning more, Fort Stanwix National Monument is open to the public seven days a week from 9am-5pm.
