Air Force Family Honors Vets

By WKTV News

NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Nobis Family is a retired Air Force family. They spent this Memorial Day "parade hopping" and eating at BBQ's in-between. The Nobis Family had a fun and relaxing day but also knows the importance of Memorial Day.

The first stop of the day was the New York Mills parade. It started on Elm Street and made it's way to Veteran's Park...where a special service took place.

New York Mills held one of the more creative parade's in our viewing area. Each float, each participant offered a bit of a show. The Shriners made it a point to be in New York Mills...complete with Clowns. A motorcycle group ran circles around each other, a real treat for the kids. And a traditional bagpipe marching band played for the crowds.

Hundreds lined the streets, decked out in patriotic apparel and waving flags.

The Nobis family made stops in New York Mills, Utica and will soon be in New Hartford.
