Annual Palm Sunday tradition continue at Chester's Flowers

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - It's a tradition that's been going on for more than 60 years here in Utica, the Palm Sunday Open House at Chester's Flowers. Some of the first through the door some adorable little furry baby chicks.

People flock to the shop to see the chicks, the flower displays and also get a picture with the Easter Bunny.

Co-owner Bill Waszkiewicz says his grandfather started this tradition years ago. He said, "he opened his first store in 1937 on Columbia Street, and they had a Palm Sunday Open House then, and we just continued it, and every year people show up. It's amazing, they bring their children, their grandchildren, there's a lot of grown up kids here too."

The flower shop is currently located on York Street in West Utica.
