Art students design campaign-style posters to encourage voting

By ANDREW DONOVAN

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Design and democracy was the goal for students at Pratt at the Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute in Utica on Thursday.

Students are designing campaign-style posters for a "Get out the Vote" movement with nearly 40 college kids using their artistic knowledge to make the posters which are now on display all around the Student Center at Munson.

The project is not meant to take sides in the political race, but to simply encourage people to take part in the democratic process.

"All of the images that are represented in our posters are non-partisan images that encourage citizens to find out more information, register and get out to vote," said Assistant Professor Cynthia Koren.

All of the posters are scanned online, and you can view them online here.

Make sure you're registered and head to the polls on November 6.
