Barneveld Free Library benefits from bike ride

BARNEVELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Meanwhile some other young people and their parents took to the streets on their bikes Saturday to raise money for the Barneveld Free Library.

The money raised will be used to purchase new childrens' books.

Library Director Greta Madore said, "People come in to use computer. We're probably only the only place in the area that has wifi, and people are used to come in there doing that, but it is a place to gather, everybody knows everybody."

Younger children and their parents went two-and-a-half miles, while other more advanced bikers went 15 miles.

The Barneveld Free Library was built way back in 1877.
