Berkshire Bank donates $25,000 for improvements at Rome YMCA

By KELLY PETERS

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Berkshire Bank is giving back to the community, donating $25,000 to the YMCA in Rome.

The funds will go toward the YMCA capital campaign, an initiative aimed at overall facility improvement.

Berkshire's contribution will be used to renovate the YMCA lobby area, with specific projects will include more handicap accessible entrances, energy efficient windows, and plaques that give credit to donors such as Berkshire.

"We're very happy that the relationship has continued and that they're supportive of community entities such as the Y. We couldn't be happy than we are right now for all that they've done for us."

Friday's donation is part of the Berkshire Foundation's $1.5 million annual donation to non-profit organizations in the community.
