Company seeks to expand filmmaking in Adirondacks

By WKTV News

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) - A new production company is trying to persuade filmmakers to bring their work to the Adirondacks.

The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports that Timothy Brearton of Adirondack Mogul has produced a short film called "The Deal" to showcase the resources his company can provide to help filmmakers get their projects off the ground.

Brearton said he and his colleagues have assisted productions that have come into the area in the past, including "Dancehall," filmed in Lake Placid in 2010. Now they're looking to help regional productions.

Brearton said he believes the Adirondack Park is becoming more popular among filmmakers because of its stunning vistas and friendly people.
