HCCC hosts annual science fair
HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - HCCC held its annual science fair for junior and senior high school students on Saturday.
33 high school and home schooled students were entered. The event is sponsored by a scientific research company called ICON which has an office in Utica. The college's presidents say these types of fairs are as important today as they were years ago. HCCC President Ann Marie Murray said, "Really think about an idea or a problem and try and come up with a creative way and look at the scientific method to see if they can get the results that will mean something, so that whole process is very valuable to them learning critical; thinking and problem solving." Awards were presented to Saturday's winners as well as cash prizes. |
