Masonic Care Community honors veterans at ceremony

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Masonic Care Community, an organization that has hundreds of veterans locally in the community and thousands across the Masonic fraternity of the state, honored veterans on Friday.

Many of the veterans at the ceremony served in World War II, but several who live and work on the campus are from the more current conflicts.

"Everyone who serves in uniform doesn't have the absolute best experience. Some of them were very trying," said Jon-Paul Kidwell, Director of Development at the Masonic Care Community. "This is a way to acknowledge those sacrifices that they made, including our employees and just a way to say thanks and honor their service."

Children from the Child Care Center also took part recognizing the veterans in Friday's ceremony.
