Tanya Tucker show at Foothills Performing Arts Center postponed

ONEONTA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Tanya Tucker performance scheduled for December 9 at the Foothils Performing Arts Center in Oneonta has been cancelled due to health reasons and rescheduled for August 17 at 8 p.m., according to a news release.

"The Foothills Performing Arts Center and community wish her a speedy, healthy recovery and look forward to seeing her in August 17th 2013," said Center Executive Director Huemac Garcia in the release.

Garcia states that patrons who have already purchased tickets for The Tanya Tucker show on December 9th may wish to do one of the following:

*Keep your ticket for the rescheduled show (August 17th 2013 ),
*Exchange your tickets to attend the Mel Tillis show on December 21,2012
*Receive a full refund of your Tanya Tucker ticket.

You are asked to contact the Foothills Performing Arts Center at 607-431-2080 to discuss your options.

In addition to the Tanya Tucker change, Garcia says there are changes to the Center's Capitol Steps event. There will be 1, 90 minute showing for Capitol Steps rather than having a second show at 8 p.m.

"We regret any inconvenience that this may cause. Any ticket holder will receive a full refund," Garcia stated, advising patrons to please call Foothills Box Office at 607-431-2080 with any questions.

Additionally and coming off a fantastic "sell out" performance by Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis, executive director Garcia expressed excitement at being able to announce a confirmed Christmas concert with the renowned country and western icon Mel Tillis on December 21, 2012.

Mel Tillis was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry in 2007 and has written mroe than 1,000 songs which include "I Ain't Never", "Good Woman Blues", and "Coca-Cola Cowboy". On February 13, 2012 President Barack Obama awarded Tillis the National Medal of Arts for his contributions to country music.

Tickets for the Mel Tillis show will go on sale October 10th at 10 a.m.

"We are also glad to announce that we have added two more shows," Garcia stated. "First, on January 19, 2013, we have confirmed a Concert by The Little River Band. Second, on March 8th 2013, a concert by Rusted Root. Tickets will go on sale shortly for both shows."
