CLINTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Staff and students from Utica College collected and donated more than $1,000 worth of gifts and food for animals at Spring Farm Cares.

Utica College contacted the animal sanctuary and asked for a wish list and some of the items that were donated were food, litter, cleaning supplies and bedding.

The shelter, on Route 12 in clinton, is at capacity and then some.

The donations were a much welcomed gift for an organization that needs the public's help.

"We're always looking for support because we rely on donations from the public to keep our budget afloat, as well as we like to have the public come in and see the animals that we have here for adoption and get familiar with Spring Farm Cares and all the wonderful programs we have for the community." said Joanne Cronan-Hamoy of Spring Farm Cares.

The folks at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center and DFAS also donated items.
