Utica Fire Chief to lead St. Patrick's Day Parade

WHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - The official lineup for the 2013 Great American Irish Festival was announced at the Halfway to the GAIF 'Hooley' on Sunday afternoon.

'Hooley' is the Irish word for party, of course.

The celebration held is also a way to thank all those involved in putting on the huge event in July at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds every year.

The hooley is also the place where the grand marshall of the Utica St. Patrick's Day Parade is announced. This year, that honor goes to Utica Fire Chief Russell Brooks.

Chief Brooks will lead the parade down Genesee Street on Saturday, March 9 at 10 a.m.

Tickets are already on sale for the Great American Irish Festival, which will be held from July 26 through July 28.
