Event Description

Central New York Bluegrass Association presents “Jamming with a Twist”. This event is for all players and fans and will be held at the Lafayette Applefest Grounds, Rt. 20, Lafayette on Sept 9 &10, 2011 (grounds close at 11 AM on the 11th for campers).
Friday September 9, noon-? is open jam. Come out and play with others in a mix of all 3 styles.
Saturday, Sept 10, will have 3 separate Jams going throughout the day, one each of Bluegrass, Gospel, and Old Time Country. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space, so rain or shine.. All are invited to come out and play (acoustic string instruments please-no electric),or listen,. Bring a chair (no high backs please). Parking lot pickin encouraged.
Special Features:
• Slow Jam-Shirley Stevens of Diamond Someday will be leading a Slow Jam on Saturday from 2-4 PM, designed to help new or rusty musicians get more comfortable in the jam setting.
• Beginner workshop will also be held for those with basic questions-so dust off that instrument and come join in..
• People’s Choice Bands: Invitation: all bands that play Bluegrass, Gospel, or Oldtime Country are invited come out and play for the People's Choice Award!. Saturday will be showcase time for bands-the perfect opportunity to share your music, meet new people, market your band, sell CDs, and join CNYBA. Pre-register by 9/1/11 for free band admission to Jamfest, guaranteed stage time, free 1 year membership in CNYBA, and to be included in the CNYBA newsletter, program, and website. Don’t miss this great musical weekend! Free camping 9th-11th with a beautiful view. Jamfest Tickets $5.00 Friday, $10.00 all weekend or Saturday. Under 16 free with paid adult. Electric is available at $10.00 a night.
