Event Description

The Greater Oneonta Historical Society GOHS) will hold its annual meeting and benefit auction on Wednesday evening October 10 at the Unitarian Universalist church on 12 Ford Avenue.

Door open at 6:00 PM for viewing and bidding for the silent, bucket, and live auctions. Items up for auction range from gift cards from many area businesses to vintage items such as Who's Who in Major League Baseball (1933), an Emile Galle pitcher, a 1964 painting by Lady Ostapeck, vintage children's clothing, and glassware and china to new items like a lap quilt by Nancy Wolters and photographs by Sven Anderson, Stephen Joseph, and John Mazarak. For a list of items, email info@OneontaHistory.org. A limited number of auction donations are on display at the History Center, where absentee bids can be placed.
GOHS' Annual Meeting starts at 6:30 PM and includes annual elections for the Board of Trustees and officers, as well as annual reports.

Directly after the short business meeting, author, raconteur, and radio personality Chuck D'Imperio will speak about his new book Upstate New York in 100 Words or Less. Copies of this and his other books will be available for sale and signing.

The live auction starts at 8 PM, with Big Chuck as auctioneer. Entertainment will be provided by pianist Jo-Ann Chmielowski. There will be free snacks and drinks.
