Event Description
"Kye Allums: A Transgender Athlete's Story" by Kye Allums, the first openly transgender player on a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I team.
Allums played women’s basketball for George Washington University; just prior to his junior season he came out as transgender but was still bound to compete on the women’s team. In so doing, he became the first male to play on a female team in Division I athletics.
He graduated from George Washington University in 2012 and has since become an active advocate for transgender issues across America.
