Event Description

Experience the magic of Candlelight Evening, one of the region's best-loved holiday traditions. The landscape of the Farmers' Museum takes on a magical appearance, decorated in greenery and illuminated by hundreds of candles.

Ride through the museum's grounds in wagons pulled by draft horses adorned with harness bells. Visit with Saint Nicholas and enjoy complimentary wassail warmed in kettles over open fires. Join in caroling in our candle-lit historic buildings.

Hear holiday music from centuries ago and also some recent favorites, performed by several groups. Children take part in holiday arts and crafts activities.

Everyone is welcome to delightful rides on the Empire State Carousel. A visit to the museum is not complete without a stop at the Farmers' Museum Store and Todd's General Store, where a large selection of handcrafted items is available, as well as other seasonal favorites. Candlelight Evening visitors should dress warmly and wear boots.
