Event Description
The Hamilton College Department of Music presents a weekend of contemporary music Nov. 10 -11 in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts" on the Hamilton College campus. "Piano in the 20th Century and Beyond will be presented on Saturday, November Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Music from Space will be on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m.pm. Both concerts are free and open to the public.
Faculty pianists Colleen Roberts Pellman, Jesse Sprole, and Sar-Shalom Strong present Piano in the 20th Century and Beyond, a recital of 20th and 21st century solo works for piano. The program will include pieces by Erwin Schulhoff, David Hanner, and John Cage. The performance also includes the premiere of “Three Nocturnes” a new work by Christopher Cresswell performed by Sar-Shalom Strong. This recital will also include informal commentary by the performers.
