Event Description

Catskill Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will present Beethoven’s Triple Concerto on Saturday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. in SUNY Oneonta’s Hunt Union Ballroom. The concert will feature Mendelssohn’s Fourth Symphony ("Italian") as well as CSO’s premiere of Edward Green’s “Once Upon a Time.”

Performing Beethoven’s unique concerto are the three internationally acclaimed artists violinist Ida Kavafian, cellist Peter Wiley and pianist Jungeun Kim, who serves as the director of the New York Summer Music Festival at SUNY Oneonta.

Regularly priced tickets are $30 and may be purchased online at or by calling (607) 436-2670.

Thanks to a generous anonymous donation, free tickets are available for students and up to two adult chaperones per student order. This offer is also valid for unaccompanied high school and college students.

This performance is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State Agency. SUNY Oneonta provides vital support for this concert.

The Catskill Symphony Orchestra (CSO) brings many concerts with a wide range of guest artists to Oneonta each year. Since 1953, the CSO has provided an unparalleled resource to entertain, educate and inspire audiences of all ages in upstate New York by presenting a professional ensemble of the highest artistic quality performing the full range of symphonic literature.

Under the direction of Maestro Charles Schneider, the CSO selects repertoire from the five major musical periods – Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern and Contemporary – with nearly equal representation. Each performance includes beloved, familiar works, unfamiliar traditional works, and new music, sometimes commissioned and sometimes premiered.
