Event Description

African Storyteller D. Ekow King will be performing at Herkimer County Community College. The program is open to the public free of charge.

Dr. Ekow King is a graduate of the University of Albany (B.A.’90, M.A. ’95) Master of Arts program in Africana Studies. He has served as a Residence Hall Director, Area Coordinator and Assistant Director for the Department of Residential Life at UAlbany. An African Storyteller and Motivational Speaker, King has performed throughout New York State.

He is the Director of the UAlbany chapter of the National Coalition Building Institute, International (NCBI), a Washington, D.C. based organization, which conducts leadership training worldwide. King is an adjunct professor in the Liberal Arts and Science department at SUNY Cobleskill, where he teaches Introduction to Africana Studies. He is currently Director of Multicultural Student Success at the University of Albany. In this capacity, he supervises the coordinator of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center and the coordinator of the Multicultural Resource Center.
