Event Description

Susan Hendler will give a new multimedia program about Beavers on Wednesday, April 10 at 6:30 pm in the Community Room of the Little Falls Library (10 Waverly Place, Little Falls, NY).

Her information-packed program includes great photos of beaver pond wildlife, plus exciting footage of beaver kits and a beaver confronting a moose.

Because Hendler has always been interested in beavers, she chose to work with the locally based nonprofit Beavers: Wetlands & Wildlife (BWW) as part of the requirements for an MS in Environmental Science at Green Mountain College. She’s been a Registered Nurse for thirty years, but says, “my true love is Nature. I have also been a licensed outdoor guide for 15 years, which has given me the opportunity to share my love of Nature with others.”Hendler lives in the Adirondacks, where she often hikes to a beaver pond and this winter heard the paddletails talking inside their lodge.

April is Earth Month, a perfect time to learn about the species that can help solve the earth's major problems—water pollution, shrinking biodiversity and even climate change—by restoring wetlands. All are welcome to attend this event, where there will be refreshments. Don’t miss this engaging speaker who is passionate about beavers.
