Event Description

Franklin E. Colvin, a resident of Fort Plain, NY is a 48 year old man who has been suffering with Renal Kidney failure for over 11 years.

This disease has kept him mainly home-bound, requiring an 11 hour dialysis treatment daily with a machine in his home. In January 2013 Franklin began having pain in his feet. He visited doctors, podiatrists, nerve specialists for several The diagnosis caused by capillaries collapsing, had progressed and caused gangrene in the left foot. Surgery was required to abate this. The first surgery on January 17, 2013, was to remove the toes and a portion of the bones of the left foot. The wound was left open to monitor the healing process. This procedure was not enough and another surgery had to be performed on February 6, 2013, 2013, removing a portion of the left leg from below the calf down. After several weeks of adaptation and therapy, Franklin returned home to his Upstairs apartment.

The Benefit is to raise money to Coping with his on going health issues and recent medical setbacks.. He has incurred much medical debt, and needs more work to be done to make his apartment better handicap equipped and more suited to his needs. He is also in need of a better vehicle.
