Redeemer Church hosts conference to inspire youth

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Over one thousand kids from across the Northeast filled Utica's Redeemer Church Thursday night for the annual Youth Generation Conference.

Through music played by Christian bands and minister sermons, the three day event is designed to bring positive messages to young people.

"It's always awesome to get together with other people who believe in the same things that you believe, to show that you're not alone and it really encourages and look forward to this every year," said Pastor Mike Servello.

Cervello says every year kids go away from the event changed, to not only be more religious, but also to stay away from drugs and live good moral lives.

The Redeemer Church has hosted the conference for 13 years. Last year it was moved to Albany, organizers say they're happy to have it back in Utica.
