2011 Stuff The Bus Campaign a huge success

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The 2011 Stuff the Bus Campaign wrapped up Saturday and hundreds of other local kids will have some gifts under the tree, thanks to your generosity.

The fifth annual campaign held its last stop at Toys R Us Saturday afternoon in New Hartford.

The toys will be distributed in the next two weeks by Catholic Charities, Kids Oneida-Herkimer, United Cerebral Palsy and the Keys Program.

NEWSChannel 2's Megan Koskovich, Lexie O'Connor and Hilary Lane were out helping the cause as people generously donated.

Alexandra Mahffy of the Empire State Quarter Horse Youth Association said, "We decided to gather toys for a community service project, we wanted to donate them to some cause, i live in new Hartford and i heard of this, so we decided to come and donate them, it's a great thing."

Toys were also collected at the Utica College hockey game's Teddy Bear Toss.

NEWSChannel 2 is proud to sponsor Stuff The Bus alongside Roser Communications (Kiss-FM, Bug Country, WUTQ), Birnie Bus, and Fidelis Care.
