Little Falls gets ready for fifth annual Christmas celebration

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The window fronts in the City of Little Falls have been transformed to celebrate the season as "Christmas in Little Falls" officially gets underway Friday night.

It is the 5th annual celebration, with activities taking place Friday and all day on Saturday.

Organizers say they are excited about the Red Nose 5k Run, where prizes are given for the best costumers. There is also a scavenger hunt for the 12 Days of Christmas, Soup Fest and an expanded craft fair this year.

The merchants have decorated their windows and even the vacant buildings have been spruced up. Area students are also helping out by providing music.

"We have the elementary choir and the hand bell choir," said Chris VanMeter, founder of Christmas in Little Falls. "That's like a really cool thing in Little Falls. They have those hand bells, big ones and little ones, and the kids, the elementary kids, take time out of their day to practice this all year long and it's beautiful."

That performance is from 10 a.m. until Noon in front of the M&T Bank.
